How to Install PC Games Safely

IMPORTANT

Before downloading or installing any game, make sure your computer meets the minimum system requirements. Keep Windows, GPU drivers, and security software updated.

1. Downloading the Game

Use a stable connection: Large game files can fail on unstable networks. If your connection drops often, use a reputable download manager that supports pause and resume.

2. Extraction & Security

Keep protection enabled: Do not disable Windows Defender or your antivirus. Scan downloaded archives before extraction and only run files you trust.

Extract Properly: Use WinRAR or 7-Zip to extract the archives. If the file is ISO, mount it directly.

Security Checklist

Scan archives before extracting them.
Check that the file size matches the game page information.
Keep Windows Security, GPU drivers, DirectX, and Visual C++ runtimes updated.
Do not run unknown executables as administrator unless you understand why it is required.
Delete files that trigger serious malware warnings instead of bypassing security tools.

3. Installation & Redistributables

If the game crashes or shows "Missing DLL" errors, you are missing essential drivers. Install everything inside the _CommonRedist or Redist folder found in the game directory:

Essential Runtimes:

DirectX (dxwebsetup.exe)
Visual C++ (vcredist_x64/x86)
XNA Framework

Drivers:

Update your GPU Drivers (NVIDIA/AMD).
Check "Device Manager" -> "Display Adapters".

4. Running the Game

Start with the normal game executable first. Use Run as Administrator only when the game cannot save settings or needs access to a protected folder.
